ABOUT THE AUTHORS:
Vagif Sultanly was born in 1958.
He graduated the philology department of Baku State University in 1976-1981.
Currently he is the professor of the Modern Azerbaijani Literature chair of the Baku State University.
He worked as a journalist in the literary programs of Azerbaijani offices of “Liberty and Free Europe” radio of USA in 1995-1998.
He was the chief editor of “Khudaferin” journal (1995-1996) published in Poland and “Araz” journal (1996-1997) published in Sweden.
At the moment he is the editor-in-chief of the “Philologial researches” compilation (since 1996) and “World Azerbaijanis” journal (since 2002) which is published in USA.
He has published more than 20 books of novels, short stories, literary criticism and essays.
Iraj Ismaely was born in 1961, in the city of Urmiya in South Azerbaijan, Iran. He holds a BSc in both Environmental Sciences and
Petroleum Technology from the University of Stavanger and MSc in Marine Resources Development from Heriot-Watt University in
Edinburgh, UK. He received an honorary PhD from the International Academy of Science for his works on promoting Azerbaijani
language and culture. He is author and co-author of Modern Azerbaijani Prose, Azerbaijani Proverbial Dictionary, Azerbaijani-
Norwegian Dictionary and South Azerbaijani Prose.
